This will likely go down as one of Anderson’s best pieces of work. I’ve seldom enjoyed a film the second time around as much as I did The Grand Budapest Hotel.
He holds no punches here in getting the job done. It’s so rare to see someone with such a clear vision of what they want, with an incredible ability to get it on-screen. Everything has been thought through, as is always the case in a Wes Anderson film, but here it all has its place in the bigger picture.
One of the best films of the year by a country mile.
