Take 2: The Grand Budapest Hotel
"When you're young it's all filet steak. When you're older you have to settle for the cheaper cuts."
This will likely go down as one of Anderson’s best pieces of work. I’ve seldom enjoyed a film the second time around as much as I did The Grand Budapest Hotel.
He holds no punches here in getting the job done. It’s so rare to see someone with such a clear vision of what they want, with an incredible ability to get it on-screen. Everything has been thought through, as is always the case in a Wes Anderson film, but here it all has its place in the bigger picture.
One of the best films of the year by a country mile.
