Run All Night

I’m the only one ever cared about you. And all of that ended an hour ago when you killed my son. I’m comin’ after your boy with everything I got.

In this one, Liam plays an ex-mob hit man who ends up being the target of his former boss. The mob want to kill his son before they kill him so the two must Run All Night to try and escape.

Sounds simple enough but the plot is surprisingly convoluted and borderline hard to follow. The sequence of events is a sort of chain reaction which bounces between various characters, but as an audience we get no real reward for trying to follow along. The first third of the film gets bogged down in trying to justify everyone’s actions only for none of it to matter.

Ed Harris’ villain is scary and once the pace picks up Run All Night isn’t so bad but it’s the most forgettable film of what we’ve seen so far.
