Following the death of his brother, a man is forced to come back to his home town to take care of his nephew and face his tragic past.
Simply shot, cleverly put together and wonderfully acted, this is the most warts and all look at grief I’ve ever seen on the big screen. Casey Affleck and Lucas Hedges make a wonderful duo, and Michelle Williams does some real heavy hitting when required.
Manchester by the Sea is often brutal, messy and heartbreaking but also surprisingly funny. Definitely worth a look, especially if you’ve ever lost someone.
