Take 2: Batman Forever
Tim Burton steps down as director for this third film in the Batman franchise and as a result Michael Keaton also hands over his batsuit to Val Kilmer.
This is almost a pastiche of the two previous films, a discount Burton if you will. You can feel the studio pressure to turn down the sex and violence and the end product is a colourful but hollow film.
Kilmer is a good Batman but a bad Bruce Wayne, and although Nicole Kidman lights up the screen the chemistry just isn’t there like with Keaton and Pfeiffer.
Not a terrible film by any stretch of the imagination but also not one you would recommend anyone see.
