The Hitman’s Bodyguard

I am harm’s way.
07 March 2020

A bodyguard (Ryan Reynolds) is tasked with escorting a prolific assassin (Samuel L Jackson) to a trial in the Hague.

You’ve seen it all before. An unlikely chalk and cheese duo learn to get on and make their way to their destination. They discover things about themselves while being funny and having wacky antics.

This is essentially Midnight Run with a lot more ‘motherfuckers’ and a stop in Coventry. By and large The Hitman’s Bodyguard is not funny enough and not thrilling enough to really hit its target.

Normally I’d give a bit more credit to a film like this for being a fun couple of hours (it mostly is), but you have so much to choose from in this genre that it is very hard to recommend it above everything else.
