This has so much to offer on a second viewing. Iannucci taps into that absurd way of thinking that the Soviet regime brought about in people, using it for laughs but also to so show us why events unfolded as they did.
It’s hard to watch this without thinking of the sycophancy that powers the Trump and Johnson governments. Things have only gotten crazier since 2017 so The Death of Stalin has aged very well.
