An old favourite of mine, one of the less-talked-about Coen Brothers films.
It’s His Girl Friday crossed with Brazil and it hits the spot for me every time. Yeah it’s all style and little substance but something about its fast-talking charm makes it easy for me to look past that.
The visual effects are magnificent with the stylised version of the New York skyline leaving a lasting impression.
A funny and cartoonish vision of a capitalist nightmare. If that hasn’t sold you, it stars Paul Newman as Sidney J. Mussburger.
