Little Monsters

A teacher (Lupita Nyong’o) is on a school trip with her kindergarten class when a zombie outbreak occurs at the petting farm they are visiting. She and one of the kid’s uncles (Alexander England) must fight to protect the group and keep them oblivious to the situation.

The central relationship between the two leads develops through the relationship with the school kids. That makes this a sneaky rom-com and it works really well. It’s a little more hit and miss than something like Shaun of the Dead but it’s offbeat and funny enough to hold its own.

Josh Gad isn’t funny but it doesn’t matter because everyone else is wonderful. Worth a watch if you need cheering up.
