And end to this sorry and unnecessary trilogy. This time Elle (Joey King) faces some difficult decisions before heading off to university.
There are way too many moving parts here. Elle has to deal with:
- Her boyfriend
- Her ex-boyfriend
- Her best friend who is her boyfriend’s brother
- Her boyfriend’s ex
- Her dad
- Her dad’s new woman who is trying not to be a replacement for Elle’s dead mother
- Her best friend’s family’s beach house getting torn down
- A bucket list to complete before she leaves
It’s a mess that never feels like it’s going to end, and when the ending does arrive it’s stupendously dull.
A torturous and lacklustre series of films, poorly written and poorly acted.
