Back to the Future

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour… you’re gonna see some serious shit.

It’s the last day of free outdoor films here in Sheffield and they are rolling out the crowd pleasers. The crowd was indeed pleased.

This film has become a bit of a time capsule, which only adds to the fun for a story about a time machine. I’d forgotten how funny it is, and this time it became clear just how carefully put together it is. For instance, Marty takes off in 1985 from the Twin Pines Mall. In the 1950s he hits a tree. When he goes back to the future, the sign says Lone Pine Mall. It’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it but it’s stuff like that that makes a film stick.
