My Donkey, My Lover & I

A woman (Laure Calamy) goes on a walking holiday in pursuit of her lover, who is out in the hills with his wife and child. She hires a donkey, Patrick, and forms an unlikely bond with the animal.

A light-hearted romp through south-central France with quite a bit more to offer than its vapid premise might suggest. The jokes land and the key scenes pack a decent emotional punch.

The one scene where the lover and the wife meet is funny and devastating, and worth the price of admission alone.
