A Bug’s Life

First rule of leadership: Everything is your fault.

An often overlooked entry into the Pixar catalogue. Toy Story 2 came out a year after this, which back in 1998 was not a lot of time between releases.

There is something missing here which is hard to define. Perhaps it doesn’t quite have the heart or one-of-a-kind plot that Pixar films are generally known for. However, its offbeat sense of humour and surprisingly dark villains make it worth another watch if, like me, you haven’t seen this since it came out.

Additionally, the voice work is great and Randy Newman’s score is a rich and carefully thought out gem.
