No one wants to throw the ring into the volcano even though they have to. Similarly, Peter Jackson clearly didn’t want to end this film even though he had to. Land the plane, Peter! You’re out of fuel and you’re gonna miss the runway!
We’re finally at the end of a roughly 10 hour trip to Mordor, and this one ties up all its loose ends very nicely along with throwing in a few memorable moments and quotes. It’s also the only film of the three that doesn’t quite nail its pacing, although perhaps that’s because I was watching the extended edition in my quest to join the true nerd club.
It’s taken Samwise a lot of miles to remember he has a girlfriend back home.
