Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult

The last of the original trilogy. How can you sift through the avalanche of jokes to figure out which is the best film of the three? I’d say this one pushes a little harder on pop culture references and while it does age it a bit more, I’m still laughing.

Weirdly enough I thought there was a Shawshank reference in the prison break scene but it turns out this came out a few months before that film, so I suppose it was a happy accident.

It’s probably best they stopped at three films. The sense of humour gets a bit tiresome after a while and it’s much more rewarding to revisit the old ones to look out for new jokes rather than face increasingly lacklustre sequels.
