Tall Girl

“When you’re a tall girl, it’s the only thing people see.”

A tall girl (Ava Michelle, 6′1″) struggles with self-confidence and dating because of her height.

Sometimes Netflix just bangs out whatever shite they can come up with quickly and cheaply, and this unfortunately falls into that bracket. There’s little funny, insightful or particularly emotionally charged about this film. It’s just 2D caricatures acting out a screenplay you’ve seen a million times before.

The core cast are quite irritating, and aren’t given much to play with beyond being ‘the bully’, ‘the quirky friend’, ‘the hot foreign guy’ etc. There’s some glimmers of support from Steve Zahn and Angela Kinsey, and even Sabrina Carpenter, but it’s just not enough and their characters are also horrifically under-written.

It does somehow make 100 minutes feel like 4 hours, so if you want to slow down the ageing process for a while perhaps this is the way to go.
