The Teasers

After Carry On Camping1 I thought it’d be interesting to see what saucy fun looks like over in Italy. It’s not particularly saucy! It’s also not much fun!
There’s no real plot, just Gloria Guida (who admittedly does have a tractor-beam gaze at the camera) messing about with a series of guys. There’s an unexpected Hong King fight scene, and a spaghetti western reference, so I guess it’s partly a spoof? Just throwaway gags really, neither of which make much sense or are particularly funny.
Where there are jokes they are just people doing double-takes, it’s hard to believe it was that amusing even in 1975. Then in the last half hour it’s a sort of family drama about parents getting back together again.
And yet I might check out the sequels to this. Not just because of Gloria Guida, but also because I am a car weirdo and it’s dead cool seeing all that Italian stuff in-period. There really were a lot of Fiat 500s, weren’t there?
