Practical Magic

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock play a couple of witchy sisters. A curse has run through generations of their family - when they find true love, their lover is doomed to die young.

This has a threadbare plot that takes so long to get going you begin to wonder what is going on. It kind of swerves between a few ideas and doesn’t really commit to any of them.

What Practical Magic does bring to the table however is good vibes. Cozy film making about family, home and finding love. Perhaps that’s not enough for some, but I had a good time with it.
