A few frames from the Botanical Gardens

Some flowers

My go-to place when I’m bored or trying out a new camera is the Botanical Garden here in Sheffield. Here are a few shots from this Yashica-Mat TLR I have had for a while and am still trying to get used to.

A woman under a tree in a garden

It’s weird shooting looking down but I do love seeing the world like it’s in a movie. I think because everything is mirrored, you get this other-wordly sense when you are looking in there. Everything looks beautiful somehow.

The reality of course when you get the pictures back is never quite as good. I quite like using this camera but man it can be fussy to get the focus correct.

I have some family photos I took which I will not post here, but trying to get a picture of a baby that just wants to leg it all the time gives you some amusingly chaotic results.

A tree

This is a self portrait in a way, where the subject is my huge gut. You can kind of see the camera too.

I am quite pleased with how these turned out. My first roll with this camera wasn’t so great, but I feel like I’m getting there slowly. The film was cinestill 800T which I believe is Kodak cine film. I read that it was meant to be shot at 500 so I did that, and I like it!
